For all of those horror lovers, I would recommend. Don’t expect great terror but you will be entertained. Your typical young adult-college love story with a gory twist. Waking up everyday on your birthday to die on the same day. I liked it. I laughed, there were “OMG” moments. I thought the main actress did a great job, typical bitch attitude who ends up learning her lesson…wooopsss! spoiler alert! I thought the story was a little played out, nothing we haven’t seen before in this type of films. I still enjoyed it, its my fav genre so I’m bias , however, Id give It a 5.6 (nothing against anybody) If you’re looking for a film to make you jump and scare you a few times, definitely go for it just don’t expect an amazing story to unfold. Thought the transitions were nice, the acting was nice, the twist was expected but it was ok. Don’t want to spoil it anymore for you guys. Now, go watch it and have a happy death day! 😉Official trailer
Disclaimer: Don’t watch this film if it’s that time of the month 😋
I really wish I could describe in details what I just experienced , but seeing that it’s already taken me forever just to decide a beginning to this writing that It will be very difficult to do so.
I keep trying to put my thoughts together, probably longer than other times before, because I’m still trying to comprehend myself what just happened. So….! I won’t try to do that. I will not even try to understand the story anymore or what the message was, blah , blah, blah and dispute my point of view with you.
I want to focus on something far more important : feelings. What I felt leaving the theater. All I could think about was how much I genuinely hated this film. And hate is a strong word , right? It’s a word I have rarely used. I felt sooooo angry, so impotent, frustrated, confused but more than confused I was in rage. I felt an anger I haven’t felt in a long time. Thank God my date didn’t walk out on me! 🙈I got so emerged in it that I was silently feeling whatever she (Jennifer Lawrence’s nameless character) was feeling.
At some point I even found myself thinking this film was extremely bad and bloody and graphic and unnecessary and then I thought: “Sisi! Wait a minute! As if something suddenly snapped inside of my brain – “How can a film that made me feel so many emotions and took me on this emotional journey, upside down and sideways in my head be so bad? ” Isn’t that what stories at the movies are supposed to do? Good stories anyway, so I shortly began to understand that the emotional roller coaster I had just experienced was, in fact, incredible.
You are entitled to your own opinions as we all are. Overall, it’s not a film I will ever (willingly) watch again. The film itself wasn’t my cup of tea and I did not like it. Nor did I like the story. What I did enjoy, however, was the acting. The way the characters moved me. That should say something! I asked one of my friends what he thought about this film because I wanted different opinions. I don’t like reading critic reviews before I write about my movie so it doesn’t influence my opinion in any shape or form but I still like to know what other people think, the viewers, whom are the most important critics anyway!!! The audience!!! This is what my friend said:
“Each human has their opinion, religion, believe etc. that movie had all sorts of emotions that take you places you haven’t gone through in a while or ever. I strongly disliked it because for the average audience who disconnect easily from movies and can’t stay present from beginning to end because of different thoughts going through their heads, or checking their phone etc, they can’t or won’t understand it. But then as an artist, I think it gave me a ride full of surprises and l loved it for the way of grabbing you and taking you to different situations, feelings, images, and to leave you at here’s a new love; different girl-different journey, make the artist satisfied and the average audience dissatisfied and angry at the rollercoaster of emotions they went through.”
… Now, it’s up to you to watch it! Xoxo
If you’re a grown ass person who still thinks 🤡 are nice and friendly and want to hire one for your kid’s birthday party. …Think again! I’ve never been afraid of clowns but apparently this is a “thing” for some people. A real fear of clowns. Now, if this is you then do yourself a favor and do not watch this movie because (spoiler alert) Pennywise pretending to be all cute with the little boy Georgie in the opening scene …not pretty! Eating the kid’s arm? Not pretty either! And it definitely won’t serve you as therapy. What? I told you it was a spoiler alert! Now, was I petrified and horrified watching this? No, I wasn’t. Did it become my favorite horror film of the year? Absolutely not. I can’t help but to compare it with Anabelle and…I just can’t. What’s to compare really? Creepy clown vs creepy doll , I mean… how can you right? 😂 Then again, I don’t have Coulrophobia. More like Phasmophobia so no bias points whatsoever. Was it scary to the point I couldn’t keep my eyes open in some scenes? Definitely!!! Anyway, let’s carry on ⤵️
Things I ❤️ in “IT” : The kids’ humor and smart responses, the dialogue was kept very real which we need to keep appreciating. The 50s are gone honie ,let’s get real: eveyone says “fuck” . The dynamic between the characters was great and Pennywise being played by Bill Skarsgard was genius. Who cares that he’s a 27 year old guy and not a 60 year old creepy ass clown? Actually, the fact that he’s young made him more trust worthy in the eyes of Georgie, the little kid who opens the first scene in the movie, to the point where he knew he wasn’t supposed to talk to strangers and still did because Pennywise looked so cute! And then boo! Turned into pure horror. It goes to show that things are changing in the industry… but that’s a story for another day! I also loved ❤️the fact that each character had their own story/fears/ inner demons, and they were explained very well. Problems that still happen to this day. The kid who was bullied for being nerdy and overweight , the child molester, the kid who bullied because he was extremely scared of his father at home , the little girl with the pedophile dad.
All of these are realities and it’s a message that needs to be conveyed. I think this movie goes beyond IT being a horror film. I think it’s meant to be an eye opener for our modern society that all of these are real situations that happen every single day and need to be talked about, showedcased and fought. It starts at home, and it continues by understanding that our fears are only there to stop us from reaching our higher calling. Once you aren’t scared anymore, all problems go away. Just like Pennywise in IT🎈
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray. You’ll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away.” This behind the scenes footage will impress you
…Such a loving song, such lovely lyrics, I could give this tune so many meanings but never will I ever think of it the same after watching Anabelle: Creation. The tale of this creepy, creepy little doll that crosses paths with lives that had no idea would change at the site of her.
The scariest part is that is based on true events. And I think that’s what makes it such a successful horror film. The sadest part is that the real one looks extremely innocent and ragitty but, is she? The answer is only online and at the movies. Whichever you chose to believe is completely up to you.
As of this 2017 version, I was skeptical as I always am when it comes to this genre. It is my favorite one (horror and thrillers are) and so I always find myself checking for ratings before I spend money at the movies. When it comes to Horror; if it’s a 5.3 it’s decent! And it’s so sad!!! However, I can assure you ,this time, you will appreciate the fact that you did spend the money 💰.
I thought it was very well thought out, very well executed. Not cheesy at all, the doll herself never walks and never speaks and never comes across as another cheap “Chucky” remake. A very well done film with even more of a better story than part 1. (Although I would recommend you watching the previous one before watching this one.) Since the beginning , I found myself trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together , trying to figure things out. I was blown away when horrible things would still happen on broad day light. Which is a huuuge change for this genre, totally unexpected, totally out of the blue, totally exciting.
Mas I was sitting there in the theater surrounded by tons of people, paying attention to everyone’s reactions, I realized that every single person was absorbed completely in the story, I heard constant gasps and constant “What are you doing”, “Shit!”, “Run!” Lol And last but not least, all of us applauding at the very end….. AND THATS WHEN YOU KNOW IT IS A GREAT MOVIE. Doesn’t matter what genre, a great movie is a one that makes
I don’t ever like spoiling things on here but all I can say is: you need to watch this film. The ending will leave you speechless and the journey will have you at the edge of your seat.
Til next time! Next review, next movie ❤️
